Today, Dr. Liff is veterinarian and owner of both Pure Paws locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Her areas of professional interest include internal medicine and dermatology. When Dr. Liff is not practicing high-quality animal medicine, she enjoys spinning, dining at new restaurants, and traveling. She is also a huge Michigan Wolverine fan and will always be a Michigan Wolverine at heart!

Imy Slome

Dr. Imy Slome grew up in New York City and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from University of Pennsylvania in 2016. She interned at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Manhattan and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Slome has professional interests in internal medicine and emergency care.

Inspired to help animals when her first dog, Shady, was in an accident, Dr. Slome developed a passion for veterinary care. Seeing how the veterinarian saved her dog’s life motivated her to do the same for others.

Dr. Slome shares a home with her husband and Pit Mix, Sosa. In her spare time, she likes spinning, sailing, hiking and hanging with friends. Fun fact: She was born in London, UK!

Ashley Cheung

Dr. Ashley Cheung is an Associate Veterinarian at Pure Paws Veterinary Care. Dr. Cheung earned her Bachelor of Art in Art History from University College London in 2014 and her Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Royal Veterinary College in 2020. In addition to her education, Dr. Cheung also held an internship at Blue Pearl in Midtown and Queens from 2020 to 2021. Dr. Cheung’s areas of professional interest include neurology and surgery. Dr. Cheung was inspired to pursue a career in the veterinary industry by her love of animals and passion for making a difference in the lives of pets and their owners.

A fun fact about Dr. Cheung is that she is a citizen of four different countries! Dr. Cheung was born in Vancouver, grew up in Hong Kong, and moved to the UK at the age of 13. In 2020, Dr. Cheung relocated to New York City with her partner and their 7-month-old Beagle/Chihuahua/Boykin puppy named Uchu. In her free time, Dr. Cheung loves visiting art galleries, theatre, shopping, traveling, and hiking. Dr. Cheung is also a huge foodie and loves to try new restaurants and cuisines wherever she goes. Originally from London, England, Dr. Gibeon now lives in Harlem, NY together with a wonderful and cantankerous geriatric cat. In her spare time, Dr. Gibeon enjoys swimming, cycling, running and hiking. Dr. Gibeon spent a year studying biology (in Spanish) at the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain.
